In the first order reaction A-. products [A]= 0.826M initially and 0.634 M after 15.0 min. What will [A] be after 2.7 h? ( t1/2= 39.3 min)

OpenStudy (aaronq):

find the decay constant, k: \[t _{1/2}=\frac{ \ln2 }{ k }\] then use the exponential decay formula: \[A=A _{0}e ^{-kt}\]

OpenStudy (s):

somehow this answer didn't work for me

OpenStudy (aaronq):

did you convert 2.7 hours to minutes?

OpenStudy (s):

162 min, right?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

i got 0.0474 ...0.05 M

OpenStudy (s):

Worked ! probably i did something wrong in calculations. Did you use the same formula ?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

yep, i did

OpenStudy (s):

Thank you!

OpenStudy (aaronq):

no prob!
