Now, instead of plugging in whole functions, they are asking you to evaluate a function and then plug in the value. So here is how it looks: f[g(-1)] = f(-3) ---> This is because in order to find f[g(-1)], we must first find g(-1). When we do that, we can replace g(-1) with that value and find f[g(-1)]. To find g(-1), you plug in -1 in to g(x), i.e. g(-1) = 2(-1) - 1 = -3 Now that we know g(-1) = -3, we can replace g(-1) in f[g(-1)] with -3 so it becomes f(-3). Now since f(x) = 4x, and we want to find f(-3), we just plugin -3 wherever there is an x in the function to find the answer. f(-3) = 4(-3) = -12 Now try the rest and see if you can do them.
