How do you write a net ionic equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok this is pretty simple... You take the equation and break it down into it's individual ions. For example: NaOh(aq) + HCl(aq) ---> Nacl(aq) + H2O(l) Na + OH + H + Cl ---> Na + Cl + H2O Now you can eliminate any that are on both sides (so in this case you take out Na and Cl) and you're net ionic equation is OH + H ---> H2O
