Can someone please tell me if I'm right or not? Explain, in complete sentences, when you would use an open circle or a closed circle, and when you would shade to the right or left, to graph an inequality on the number line. My answer is: You use an open circle when when the point does not equal that value, like if you were doing x>0 or x<0. And you would use a closed circle when it has a equal sign like ≤ or ≥ . You shade to the right if its greater than, and left if its less than. Am I right?
It's a little wordy. Maybe, "An open circle indicates the value circled is not included in the solution set."
Ok thanks! Is there anything else I should change? :)
You're good. Usually, shorter is better, but you know what your teacher will like.
