Help. Please. Calculate the percent of acetic acid in the vinegar. (The density of vinegar is 1.002 g/ml.) How would I do this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First calculate the moles of acetic acid, then the weight of acetic acid, then divide by the weight of vinegar.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhh whoopsies

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait one second

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright and thank you for helping :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

before i do this i need a bit more info do you have anything else or is this all you have?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That is all that I have....sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think it's 59.930 percent

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the molar mass of acetic acid is 60.05

OpenStudy (anonymous):

divided by the vinegar 1.002

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to get percentage you divide by 100 it comes out to 0.5993014

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that basically can be rounded to 60% if you like to

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That makes so much sense and thank you so much :))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

please ask a peer of yours if thats correct i could be wrong but i'm glad it helped

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright will do

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:D do you need help with anything else?

OpenStudy (anonymous):
