jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

what did you get for #5 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to calculate the area of the rectangle multiply the length times the width

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i need help with both question u c here

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

for the first one, you just multiply length and width A = LW A = 9*8 A = ???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

number 5 is 72?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

yep

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

# 6, you use the formula P = 4s and plug in P = 28 28 = 4s then solve for s to get s = ???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

on the second one the area of the square is the square of the sides. so you have to find out what the length of the sides are. the perimeter is 4 times the length of the sides or all the sides added together. so if the perimeter = 28 then 4s=28, divide 28 by 4 to get the length of the sides and square that number.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

7?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lmaoooooooo

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes 7 is the length of the sides. now square it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

14?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no 7 times 7

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

7 squared = 7 times 7 = ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

49 .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):
