Choose the polynomial written in standard form. x2y2 + xy − 1 10x3 + 14x2 − 4x4 + x x2 + x2y + 3 5x + x3 − 3
I think this information will be our guide for this problem.
@Solmyr What do you think?
well from a couple of previous equations like this, i thought the exponents went from smallest to largest.
Of the options, I do not see one that behaves in the manner you described.
Yet, what is written in your study materials as "standard form of a polynomial" is what you should use.
well at first i was thinking C, x^2 + x^2y + 3
ok
x^2 + x^2y + 3 = x^2 + y*x^2 + 3 --I don't see that as an option but you could try it. Do you know how your resource materials define standard form of a polynomial.
This one appeals to me: x^2*y^2 + x*y − 1 The two variables are of equal power in the first term, second, and third term. The third term could be thought of as --> -1* x^0 * y^0.
ok srry had to do something
No worries. I wrote above the option that appeals to me.
ok
so my answer will be A?
I cannot say for sure because you mentioned that your books or whatever showed standard form with increasing powers of the variable. However, I don't see any of the options that fit that. So, you might say I went with option A by default. None of the others seemed correct.
oh
i just went back to the lesson study and your right it is A
Glad that you checked the reference materials.
