solve 4+3y=6y-5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it -3

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

4 + 3y = 6y - 5 get like terms on the same side 4 = (6y-3y) - 5 4 = 3y - 5 add 5 to both sides 9 = 3y y =3 close but not negative :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well it must be 1

@johnweldon1993 you are correct you would do exactly what you said ! haha lol (:

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

:) why thank you @kugler97 :) And montg17 okay lets do what you think of it being 1 4 + 3y = 6y - 5 replace y's with 1 4 + 3(1) = 6(1) - 5 4 + 3 = 6 - 5 7 = 1? No....look at my explaination above again and see why it is 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

o my bad

your welcome (: @johnweldon1993

OpenStudy (thuru7):
