what is right value .........................explain with reason and logic 0/0 is 1or infinity or 0? which is correct?

OpenStudy (aravindg):

I thought 0/0 is not defined ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah it is but y....do u have explanation of proof?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

* or

OpenStudy (aravindg):

well one reason i can think of it is this consider a fraction a/b if a=0 then surely a/b=0 but what happens if b becomes a small value very near to zero ? yep a.b tends to infinity , hence when a=0,b=0 both should happen simultaneously .Thats not possible .Hence its not defined

OpenStudy (aravindg):

*a/b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why cant both tend to zero at same time?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@AravindG

OpenStudy (aravindg):

so that was what i was trying to say : in the case when a=0 and b=0 simultaneously the fraction have a tendency to go in both directions(to infinity and 0 ) at the same time .so thats ambigius

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no suppose if a tends from negative side and b tends from positive side towards zero on number line then what will function as whole tend toward 0 or 1?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@AravindG

OpenStudy (aravindg):

another way of explaining will be : |dw:1362850233548:dw| hence undefined
