I can't go into too much detail, but here's a general answer. Factories became necessary for economic growth as they had the ability to mass produce goods. Also, growing populations demanded more goods and factories were able to provide that. Factories needed raw materials such as metals, cotton, timber, etc. and physical labor to succeed.
