What is the remainder when (2x^4 – 3x^3 + x^2 – 3x + 2) ÷ (x – 2)...?

@sleepybacon Hi, \(\huge \color{red}{\text{Welcome to Open Study}}\ddot\smile\) Do you know the remainder theorem ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no i dont, can you help me?

hartnn (hartnn):

yes, Remainder theorem, When you divide a polynomial f(x) by x-c the remainder r will be f(c). so here, let, f(x) = (2x^4 – 3x^3 + x^2 – 3x + 2) when you divide f(x) by x-2 the remainder is just f(2) got this ? can you find f(2) ??

hartnn (hartnn):

to find f(2), just replace 'x' in f(x) by x=2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, I think i got it.. thankyou so much!

hartnn (hartnn):

welcome ^_^ if you want to verify your answer, just post it , i'll verify for you.

hartnn (hartnn):

and if you need any assistance browsing this site, you can ask me :)
