-3<4x+5<9 you want the x by itself there in the middle so subtract 5 from all sides -8 < 4x < 4 again you want x completely by itself so divide everything by 4 -2 < x < 1 @Hope_nicole you can check yours by plugging in 1.9 to the equation -3<4(1.9)+5<9 -3 < 12.6 < 9 not quite :)
