Prove that zero is a unique number

OpenStudy (anonymous):

everything makes zero unique! multiply anything by it you get 0, the only factors is has is itself times another number, zero dividing a number is not possible, 0 being divided is always zero.

OpenStudy (zpupster):

This is rather easy to prove, for it there were two zeros, say O1 and O2, then O1 = O1 + O2 = O2 + O1 = O2 Proving that O1 = O2. The following field properties are used in establishing the result above. (additive identity property) (commutative property for addition)
