What are the next 3 terms of the following sequence?3,-8,-13,___,___,___

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it's -18,-23,-28

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did you figure that out?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Take a look at the difference from the first to the second term. And then take a look a the difference from the second to the third term. If they are the same, then the difference from the third term to the fourth term should also be the same, as should that of the fourth to the fifth term.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oops, just saw that we are given only two terms, so what is the difference betweeen them?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is that first term a 3 or a -3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

12?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i mean 3 sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, so you go from 3 to a -8 and then from -8 to -13?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i just found the answers thank you!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It would make more sense if that first 3 was negative.
