A model deck is 9 in. by 16 in. Use the scale 1/2 in. : 1 ft to find the dimensions of the actual deck. (A)18 ft by 32 ft (B)18 ft by 16 ft (C)4 and 1/2ft by 8 ft (D)9 ft by 32 ft

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok I'm not 100% confident so I'm going to walk through it, so for every 1/2 inch in the model there is 1 foot on the actual

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it might be B huh?? @heradog

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok so lets eliminate the ones that won't work. 1/2 is associated with the scale and 1 with the actual so both values have to change the same in relation to each other B won't work because 9 * 2=18 and 16 doesn't change D won't work for the same reason 9 doesn't change and 16 * 2=32

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That leaves A and C Here's where I'm trying not to mess you up because: A both values are multiplied by 2 C both are multiplied by 1/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think its going to be A. @heradog

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, the number of 1/2 inches in 9 and 16 is the same as if we multiplied them by 2 and since the value for the actual is 1 it would be the same as the given values so A is correct

thank u so much

Sorry it took so long
