The graph of which equation is shown below? y = −x^2 + 2x − 3 y = −x^2 − 2x − 3 y = x^2 + 2x − 3 y = x^2 − 2x − 3

OpenStudy (kamille):

You know that formula of a parabola is \[y=ax ^{2}+bx+c\] if a is a<0 (-1,for example), then|dw:1363609053050:dw| and if a>0 (1, for example) then|dw:1363609083030:dw| So, from this you can say that y = −x^2 + 2x − 3 and y = −x^2 − 2x − 3 can't be your answers, because a<0 and in your given picture the branch of a parabola goes up. So we still have y = x^2 + 2x − 3 and y = x^2 − 2x − 3
