Okay so I have a triangle which has a height (height=h) that is 4 inches shorter than the base (base=b) and has an area of 168 square inches. h=2b-4 & 168=1/2b*h

2Eminy You have the height of the triangle as h=2b-4 although the words in the posted problem state that --> (height=h) that is 4 inches shorter than the base. h = 2b -4 indicates that the height is four inches shorter than *twice* the base. |dw:1363688499155:dw|
