Hey, can someone help me: what is the domain and range of each of the following? use interval notation 1) y=4x + 2 thankyou!

Directrix (directrix):

The domain is the set of acceptable values of x. Is there any value of x that you think should be excluded from the domain of y = 4x+2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry, I don't understand that but how do I put it into interval notation?

Directrix (directrix):

I hear you but if you don't understand what the domain of a function is, then it will be, in my opinion, impossible to understand the meaning of the interval notation.

Directrix (directrix):

If you know the domain and range and just want to know how to write it in interval notation, then we can do that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I understand that the domain is the set of x- values, and I understand interval notation, I just don't know how to do that specific equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you seek the answer, I believe it shall be\[(-\infty,\infty)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

isn't that the set of reals?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Same.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Or, you could use \[\forall x\in R\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks :)

No probs
