5.Find the polynomial function with roots 1, 7, and -3 of multiplicity 2

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

ok... so given the roots you know the factors are (x -1)(x -7)(x +3) multiplicity of 2 means that the last factor is squared. so the polynomial is \[P(x) = a(x -1)(x-7)(x+3)^2\] a is just a number factor... you can assume its 1 and simplify the polynomial... or leave it outside the distributed version of the polynomial.
