can someone tell me what the simplified form of this equation is???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3x^2/x^2-1/9x/x^2+2x+1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer choices are x(x-1)/3(x+1) x(x+1)/3(x-1) 3x(x+1)/(x-1) (x-1)/3x(x+1)

mathhater94 can you elaborate on the question? Maybe with brackets

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

ok.. so its \[\frac{\frac{3x^2}{x^2 -1}}{\frac{9x}{x^2 + 2x + 1}}\] so dividing by a fraction requires you to find the reciprocal of the denominator and multiply so its \[\frac{3x^2}{x^2 -1} \times \frac{x^2 + 2x + 1}{9x}\] but before multiplying factor some of the terms so you can see the common factors that cancel \[\frac{3x(x)}{(x +1)(x-1)} \times \frac{(x +1)^2}{3x(3)}\] cancel common factors leaves \[\frac{x}{(x -1)} \times \frac{(x + 1)}{3}\] multiply it out for your answer.
