that's not a system right?
maybe it means solve the first equation for x and the 2nd for y O.o
OpenStudy (anonymous):
That what it means but I can't figure out how to write the answer.
OpenStudy (angela210793):
Sorry..I don't think I understand that :/

The only thing I can think of is to solve x and y in terms of A and B.
I got
y = (5B+A)/7
x = (-2B+A)/7
OpenStudy (anonymous):
I'll try it.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Nope
OpenStudy (tanner23456):
Try could try this
x = (A+B)/-7
y = (-5A +2B)/7
I don't know. This is a weird question.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Ya, I have two like this.

your answer has to have an A and a B in it
OpenStudy (anonymous):
They do
OpenStudy (tanner23456):
If you want I can walk you through my thinking process
3x + 2y = A
5x +y = B
subtract 5x from both sides of the second equation
y = B-5x
plug it into the first
3x +2(B-5x) = A
3x + 2B - 10x = A
-7x = A - 2B
x = (A-2B)/-7
plug that into the second equation
5((A-2B)/7) + y = B
(5A-10B)/7 + y = B
subtract (5A-10B)/7 from both sides
y = -5A/7 + 17B/7
y = (-5A + 17B)/7
so
x = (A-2B)/7
y = (-5A+17B)/7
