jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

The question to ask yourself is: if they were parallel, then what makes skew lines so special or unique? What makes them different from parallel lines?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

answer choices are : always , never and sometimes ...

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

I know, but what do you think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think its "always" ?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

if they were always parallel, then why call them skew lines?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

why not just call them parallel lines

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then sometimes ?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

no it's never skew lines are lines that do NOT intersect and they point in different directions these two lines are in 3D space (not in the plane)
