–2x + 1 ≤ –11
What are you looking for?
Just how to get the answer.
What is your first step?
No clue.
@ash2326 @Ashleyisakitty ?
x<6
\[–2x + 1 ≤ –11\] Subtract both sides by 1 What would you get @unheard
Hi @pambro Please don't just post the answer directly. Please explain how you got it
@unheard did you try? \[-2x+1-1\le -11-1\]
Yes, now divide both sides by 2
There is one small mistake, after dividing by 2 you'd get \[-x\le -6\] Now you multiply both sides by -1, this will change the inequality sign \[x\ge 6\]
\[-2> -3\] multiply both sides by -1 \[2<3\]
I did get -6, it just didnt show up too well, haha
did you understand the last step ? @unheard
No, I did not understand the very last step
-2x + 1 <= - 11 -2x <= - 11 - 1 -2x <= -12 x >= 6
You had \[-x\le -6\] Now you multiply both sides by -1, which inverts the sign \[x\ge 6\] See my post above about -2>-3 Do you agree with that?
Ohh, Okay. I understand now. Thank you.
cool :)
