The Korean War was at a stalemate by the end of 1951.
No lol 1953
Technically, MaccT is right. By 1951, the large, sweeping movement of armies up and down the peninsula had ended after China's intervention and the United Nations' ability to halt their advance south of the 38th parallel. Smaller battles still raged back and forth, but nothing like the massive invasion that started the war or the push back from the north after China had unexpectedly joined. From '51 - 53, the war had stagnated into a WW1 sort of stalemate between both sides with no significant gains. 1953 marked the signing of the armistice between North and South. Technically, the war isn't even over -- there has never been a formal peace treaty between either side "ending" the war.
