if a box with the surface area of 255 is within another box with a surface area of 400, whats the volume between them? i just need to know the procedure.
does volume have a constant relationship to surface area?
Well, the question is A glass box shaped like a rectangular prism has width 7 inches, length 9 inches, and height 12 inches. It is being shipped in a larger box with width 10 inches, length 10 inches, and height 15 inches. The space between the glass box and the shipping box will be filled with Styrofoam peanuts. How many cubic inches of space will contain Styrofoam peanuts? did i do it wrong?
Sa = 2xz + 2yz + 2xy V = xyz well, i think the measurements are important to the question :)
the volume of the bigger, minus the volume of the smaller, give you the difference in volume that is air
Oh ok, I was trying to do surface area instead of volume, and then subtract the surface areas! thank you!
:) yeah, that would have been futile
