OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay! 1. Yo voy a ir a Guadalajara, Jalisco. 2. Yo voy a disfrutar de su comida deliciosa, y tienen mucha diversion. 3. Me voy a alojar en un buen hotel. (or should it be "yo" not "me"??) 4. Yo voy a comer en varios restaurantes y, posiblemente, del hotel. 5. Le costara es un mil dolares incluyendo mi vuelo, hotel y comida. (not too sure..) 6. Solo quiero explorar los lugares cerca de mi hotel. 7. Este sera un viaje muy divertido! ***thats what i think.. but I'm honestly not completely too sure on them... anything wrong or that i need to fix/change?? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Give me a few minutes, I'm finishing up something really really quick:))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alrighty! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We're actually supposed to use the future tense here. For example, "I will go to Guadalajara, Jalisco." In this case, the verb is "WILL GO." So, we would have to say "Yo iré." "Iré" means "I will go." It's the future tense of "ir." You see? ~~~~~~~~~~~ So, what you can do is go back to all those sentences where you use "voy," and change them, so that you're actually using the future tense.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'll give you two examples, where you did correctly use the future tense: #5 "Me costará" is correct. It means "it will cost me." (Yeah, we would have to use ME instead of LE.) ~~~~~~~~~~~ #7 "Este será un viaje muy divertido." This is also correct, because "será" is the future tense of "ser." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Again, you did #5 and #7 correctly. You used the correct future tense, in those two sentences. Buen trabajo. For all the other sentences, you will need to go back, and correct them, so that they all have future tense verbs, okay? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Any questions?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, so #5 and #7 are completely correct?? what about the rest? I'm still not sure how to make it future tense and if the other stuff is right.. :/ yo no comprende :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah 5 and 7 are fine. Just remember to use the accent marks when you write them out, okay? ~~~~~~~~~~~ Future tense is probably the easiest tense to create. I'll use HABLAR (to speak) as an example. ~~~~~~~~~~~ All we have to do is take the infinitive verb, like HABLAR, and add a new ending onto it. Here are all the future tense forms of HABLAR: (Yo) Hablaré --- I will speak (Tú) Hablarás --- You will speak (Él/Ella/Usted) Hablará --- He/She will speak (Nosotros) Hablaremos --- We will speak (Ellos/Ellas/Ustedes) Hablarán --- They will speak ~~~~~~~~~~~ You see, it's easy. All we did was take HABLAR, and add a new ending onto the end of it, without changing anything else. ~~~~~~~~~ The new endings that we could add are.... é ás á emos án ~~~~~~~~~~~~ And it works like this with ALL verbs. We just take the infinitive, and add a new ending onto it. For example, "Yo hablaré con ella" means "I will speak with her." "Yo comeré" means "I will eat." "Ella comerá" means "She will eat." See? It works like that with all verbs. We just take the infinitive verb, and add an ending onto it. And the ending that we add changes the meaning of the verb. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Now let's take a look at your sentences. I've already translated the first sentence for you. Take a look at your second sentence: "I will enjoy enjoy their delicious food, and I will have lots of fun." The verbs that we need to use are DISFRUTAR (to enjoy) and DIVERTIRSE (to have fun). Re-write the whole sentence, using the future tenses of those two verbs. (Remember that DIVERTIRSE is a reflexive verb.)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So #1 is this? 1) Yo ire a ir a Guadalajara, Jalisco. (or should it be Yo voy a ire a Guadalajara, Jalisco. wasn't sure whether i change voy? or ir? :/ ) And would #2 be this? 2) Yo voy a disfrutar de su comida deliciosa, y tienen mucha divertirse.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

#1 is..."Yo iré a Guadalajara, Jalisco." "I will go to Guadalajara, Jalisco." Again, "Yo iré" means "I will go." So we don't have to put another "ir" after that. Because "Yo iré a ir" would mean "I will go to go." That wouldn't make sense, you see? ~~~~~~~~~~ I don't see that you changed anything about #2. We do need to change it. The verbs are DISFRUTAR and DIVERTIRSE. What we need to do is change them into the future tense. I wanna see you say... "I WILL ENJOY their delicious food, and I WILL HAVE FUN." (I capitalized the parts of the sentence where you'll need to use a future-tense verb.)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you're unsure of how to conjugate future-tense verbs, take another look at my example list here: (Yo) Hablaré --- I will speak (Tú) Hablarás --- You will speak (Él/Ella/Usted) Hablará --- He/She will speak (Nosotros) Hablaremos --- We will speak (Ellos/Ellas/Ustedes) Hablarán --- They will speak You see, all we did was take the future tense verb, and add a new ending onto it. The new endings change the meaning of the verb. For example, if I take HABLAR, and add an ( é ), if becomes "hablaré." "Hablaré" means "I will speak." BUT if I add a ( ás ), it becomes "hablarás." And "Hablarás" means "You will speak." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Again, here are all the different endings that we could add, to ANY infinitive verb, in order to make it future tense: (Yo) é (Tu) ás (El/Ella/Usted) á (Nosotros) emos (Ellos/Ellas/Ustedes) án

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So for #1 I write: 1) Yo ire a Guadalajara, Jalisco. ?? and ohhh my bad for #2.. i thought i changed it.. :/ so would it be this? 2) Yo voy a disfrutare de su comida deliciosa, y tienen mucha divertire. ??? did i conjugate that correctly? :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah you conjugated the verbs correctly. Just take out the voy. We don't need the voy for the future tense. "Yo disfrutaré de la comida deliciosa y me divertiré mucho." ~~~~~~~~~~~~ I might need to show you how to conjugate reflexive verbs.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay :) so would #3 be 3) Me voy a alojare en un buen hotel. ??? and 4) Yo voy a comere en varios restaurantes y, posiblementere, del hotel. ???? not too sure... and u said 5 was right as it was right?? 5) Le costara es un mil dolares incluyendo mi vuelo, hotel y comida. ??? :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We don't need to say "voy." Ever. Whenever we're using the future tense, we don't say "voy." You can start with "yo" if you like. Like #3. "Yo me alojaré en un buen hotel." ~~~~~~~~~ Take out the "voy" in #4. The only verb in #4 is "comer." "Posiblemente" means "possibly." It's not a verb. So you really shouldn't change it. ~~~~~~~~~~ And for #5, I did mention that everything is correct, except for one thing: We need to use ME instead of LE. "ME costará." Not "LE."

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, ill remember to never use "VOY" then! so like this ? 4. Yo comer en varios restaurantes y, posiblemente, del hotel. 5. Me costara es un mil dolares incluyendo mi vuelo, hotel y comida. so is everything correct in 4 and 5 now? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

#5 is okay. I'm looking at #4 now. "Comer" is infinitive. You haven't conjugated it yet. What's the future-tense Yo form of "comer"?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

comere?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes. "Comeré." Now, we have to change the entire sentence in #6. It says, "I just want to explore the places near my hotel." The problem is that there's no future-tense in there, you see? You can say this instead: "I will explore all the places near my hotel." Can you say that in Spanish now?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so #4 is this now? 4) Yo comere en varios restaurantes y, posiblemente, del hotel. and would 6 be this? 6) Yo ire explorare los lugares cerca de mi hotel. ??? and u said 7 was correct?? like this? 7) Este sera un viaje muy divertido! ??:D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4 and 7 are fine. Let's just look at #6. You used two verbs in that sentence. We only need one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay! so this for 6 then? 6) 6) Yo ire explorare los lugar cerca de mi hotel. (is that right? with just lugar instead or lugares?)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lugar in a noun.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry, i put 6) twice lol so yes?? would that be right?? 6) Yo ire explorare los lugar cerca de mi hotel. ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No. You still have two verbs in that sentence. You only need one verb. And you SHOULD have kept "lugares." That was correct. You didn't need to change that. "Lugar" is a noun. Not a verb. It means "place."

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, so should i take out ire ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you know what "Iré" means?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

will go right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It means "I will go." Yes. Do you know what "exploraré" means?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so then that would be verb 1 and explorare is verb 2... will go explore?? ohhh so just take ire out and sentence 6 is like this? 6) Yo explorare los lugares cerca de mi hotel. ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, that's perfectly fine. "Yo exploraré los lugares cerca de mi hotel." Translation" "I will explore the places near my hotel." That's fine. You see? We only need ONE verb. Exploraré.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you say.... "Yo iré exploraré los lugares cerca de mi hotel," You're saying... "I will go I will explore the places near my hotel." You see how that doesn't quite make sense? Just one verb is needed.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes that makes sense :) thanks!! so we are done? :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are we?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes with these sentences :) thanks a bunch for ur help and the explanations!! i need to try to remember all that :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes. Por favor. Y de nada.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:)
