what gland is responsible for the developement of the immune system
serous glands possibly because they practically produce serum which contain our white blood cells and red blood cells also the mucous glands which produce mucous as protection
The thymus gland needed early in life for normal immune function. It is very large just after a child is born and weighs its greatest when a child reaches puberty. Then its tissue is replaced by fat. The thymus gland secretes hormones, these hormones help to develop the lymphoid system, which is a system throughout the body that helps the body to initiate a mature immune response by lymphoid cells to protect them from invading bodies, like bacteria. Developing immune system is d work of the thymus. White blood cells are activated by the thymus and develop into "T" cells. The thymus also secretes hormones that stimulate and strengthen the immune system.
