How do i get a good LateX compiler?

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

you download one, if you are using a mac i'd recommend texshop http://pages.uoregon.edu/koch/texshop/

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

It is not like there is a huge volume of competing ones with different abilities. In truth, there are just a few choices based on what OS you use and they pretty much all come from the same core code and download packages from the same repositories.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

@UnkleRhaukus Those are editors. He asked about compilers.

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

your right @e.mccormick. it turns out i dont really know what a complier is , i dont have a computer science background

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

@UnkleRhaukus Ah. In fact, shafqat_uet might be in the same boat as you! The compiler turns the code into the result. The editor is what you type in. Both are very important. I like Texmaker as a main editor and use EditPad to open multiple other files for references and taking code snippets from older work to reuse in newer stuff. For a compiler I use the MikTex builds. They have a pretty easy package manager and I have no complaints about the time it takes to turn a .tex file into a .pdf.
