Why do cells use fat and starch for long term energy storage instead of ATP molescules?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know that ATP must be recycled and can't be stored. Glucose, starch, and fat molecules will provide a long term energy storage, it can be released by chemical reactions in the cells. This released energy is used to reform the ATP molecules, which are then used to provide energy that can be used by the cell's in their everyday functions.

Mainly because it is easier to derive energy from ATP than fats. Fats are more susceptible to being stored as they are in form of large globules which cannot be broken down easily.

Also, if you look at the structure of Adenosin tri Phosphate, you'll know it's very unstable, 3 negative charges joint together. It MUST break down to ADP and release a P to give the energy out much like an exothermic reaction.

Energy can be derived from ATP faster than fats. Moreover fats cannot be broken down easily due to their large size.

Ok I understand thank you guys so much.
