why do cells divide?
Because once the nutrient gets too big it no longer reaches the center of the cell.
-Because they get too big. -Nutrients can't reach the center of the cell once they get too big. -Cells are living things, as all living things they need to: grow, eat, reproduce and die -cells divide to give you the certain amount of blood needed in that part of the body.
-Cells divide because the larger the cell becomes the less efficient it is. So they multiply and younger ones come into being and they are more efficient. So they keep dividing to make more. -Cells divide because when your body grows, the cells dont grow with you they divide to make more
Also, cells have different lifespans. Some don't divide or rarely divide, but those are the ones that have really long lifespans, like bone or brain cells. Normal muscle cells have very short lifespans, but they compensate for it by dividing often. :)
