Mathematics 15 Online

Can anyone help me? I have to solve by factoring :( which I'm having a hard time understanding. 2x^2 + 11x + 6 = −9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First you wanna add \(9\) to both sides.\[ 2x^2 + 11x + 15 = 0 \]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then you want to split up \(11x\) For example you could split it into \(5x+6x\) or \(2x+9x\). They just have to add up to \(11x\).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

However there is a certain way you want them to split up.

I'm not getting any factors of 15 that add up to 11 :(
