How would you plug in 60 squareroot 2 into a calculator? I know the answer is rounded to 85 but I can't plug it in right.

OpenStudy (nikolas):

What model of calculator are you using? Is there a manual you can refer to? It should be fairly simple though. If the radical symbol (i.e. the square root symbol) appears above a number or another button, look for a "shift" or "function" or "fn" etc. button you can press first before pushing the button underneath the radical symbol.

I mean I'm just using my iPhone... so it has the square-root button

OpenStudy (nikolas):

I don't haave an iPhone, but I would assume you can just enter in [60] [times or "x"] [square root button] [2] ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But when I put the symbol in it automatically makes the equation go away. Do i multiply 60 * square root 2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I just did that and I got 120. That's not right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh I see what I did. I didn't press enter again. Thanks for your help!

OpenStudy (nikolas):

No problem, it can be frustrating using a calculator you're not familiar with but I'm glad you figured it out.

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Push 60 * sqrt 2) enter
