Can you tell the angle measures of a triangle? I'll draw the triangle.

Options: 30, 60, 90 -or- they cannot be determined. I know that the triangle looks like a 30 60 90 triangle, so that's how I narrowed down my options, but I don't think you can mathematically prove it can you?

OpenStudy (radar):

Since it is not indicated as a right triangle, I would test to determine if it is.

OpenStudy (radar):

It is a right triangle so the answer is yes!

OpenStudy (radar):

regular sin cos tan function can be used to find the angles.

Thank you!

OpenStudy (radar):

You can prove it is a right triangle in that the hypotenuse squared is equal to the sum of the sides squared, and sure enough 588 = 588

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, okay so it's just a Pythagorean theorem problem. I get it now. Thank you so much!

OpenStudy (radar):

You are welcome, I am sure you probably should mention that Pythagorean equation was used and is the basis of your conclusion.
