I think the point is that you are asking what effect a certain k value will have on the graph and no one has any idea because there is no k in the equation.

Is this the form we're suppose to use perhaps? \[\large f(x)=\sqrt{x-h}+k\] Which would shift the vertex of the parabola to \(\large (h,k)\).

Blah not parabola, but the idea still holds. It would shift the..... base point? or whatever.. of the root over to \(\large (h,k)\)

The K is shifting the function UP or DOWN. Since it's negative, it will shift it downward. Yah... something like that -_-
