Find the secant of both angle A and angle B. Image attached.
SOHCAHTOA sin = Opposite / Hypotenuse cos = Adjacent / Hypotenuse tan = Opposite / Adjacent
Also sec = H/A csc = H/O cot = A/O
What does A stand for?
Adjacent
ok, what does adjacent mean?
"next to" I'll explain it this way: on that triangle, look at angle B. There is a short side next to it and a short side across from it. Those are the ADJACENT and OPPOSITE sides, respectively. The hypotenuse is of course the longest side.
And if you want to get anywhere at all in trigonometry you HAVE TO HAVE TO HAVE TO memorize SOHCAHTOA. Absolute MUST.

do you mind showing me step by step how to find the secant of this triangle?
secant of angle A = length of hypotenuse / length of adjecent side plug in the numbers.

Ok I did that
use the equation editor below and enter the equation exactly as you have
26/24= 1.08
good. that is the value for sec A
So is that all you do for secant A?
same thing for "B" but notice that the adject and opposite sides for "B" would change.
that is it. :) you do not have to do a lot
is it hard to believe that math is simple?
Thank you very much for helping me!
Don't forget to memorize SOHCAHTOA.
Ok, I will. Thank you very much.
