simplify: 3x^2 + 21x - 54/x^2 + 3x - 54

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To simplify you must combine like terms. \[3x ^{2} + 21x - 54x ^{2} +3x -54\] You can combine everything that is alike so... \[3x^2-54x^2 = -51x^2\] \[21x + 3x = 24x\] And nothing can combine with -54 because it has nothing alike it in the equation. So then you just put them together which becomes \[-51x^2+24x-54\]. Does that make sense?

yes that does...a lot of help

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

so like the first step i think that you can factorizing out in numeratoe the 3 ok ? check it what will get than there

my answer: 10

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

sorry i like help you step by step do you wann cooperat anything ?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

so if you dont like cooperating i not can help you learning it how you can solve it sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Since you started with an x^2 and a x and number you should end with the same unless something subtracts from the other. My answer above is the answer you should get. Do I need explain more?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No I just had to go through it again on my own paper. Thank you for your help.
