What is the measure of the vertex angle of an isosceles triangle if one of the base angles measures 56°

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

what do you know about an isosceles triangle....?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it has atleast 2 equal sides

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

and what else is equal...?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the angles?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

yep... its normally described as the base angles are equal. |dw:1365536305585:dw| you need to find the side of a knowing the base angles of the isosceles triangle. hope this helps.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk what they equal. im not good with finding angles or side degrees... thanks for the picture

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or do you just add them both up?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which =112 degrees

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

ok... so the angles in a triangle add to 180 so a = 180 - 56 - 56

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhh! okay thanks os much :)
