For this you can solve by elimination or substitution. Substitution seems easier for these equations. First, get the x in the bottom equation by itself. y=x+2 y-2=x x=y-2 Then substitute the value of x into the first equation. y=3x-4 y=3(y-2)-4 y=3y-6-4 y=3y-10 Then solve for y y=3y-10 y-3y=-10 -2y=-10 y=5 Since y=5, solve for x by substituting it into the second equation. x=y-2 x=5-2 x=3 We now know that x equals 3 and y equals 5.
