Describe the conditions in the Soviet Union after World War II. How did the conditions differ from those in the United States? PLEASE HELP!!

The USSR was pretty devastated after WW2 even though it, and the Allies, had won. It arguably bore the worst that Hitler and Nazi Germany had thrown at anyone in the war losing tens of millions of people, both soldiers and civilians. Many cities were wrecked, industry outside of war production was largely ruined, and the economy was smashed. Imagine the biggest cities in your state and imagine how empty they would feel with no one there and little food on the shelves. That was how most of the villages, towns, and some cities were in large parts of the country after the war. On the other hand, the US was largely unaffected and had come out of WW2 like a million bucks due to its isolation from the direct effects of war against Japan and Germany. Its industries were untouched and its civilian population survived intact. As a result, the US came out on top in the years that followed, with an economy ready to explode and markets opening up for the goods it would make.
