governmental and non-governmental responses to Genocide by either 3 organizations •Rwanda •Bosnia-Herzegovina •Darfur

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What exactly are you asking ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like I need to find at least one governmental and non governmental genocides for one of the 3 and I'm doing search at the moment for Darfur

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I found Darfur....read this.... http://www.unitedhumanrights.org/genocide/genocide-in-sudan.htm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ugh reading lol okay i'll be back thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Some farmers. All Muslims. In 1989, General Omar Bashir took control of Sudan by military coup, which then allowed The National Islamic Front government to inflame regional tensions. okay which is this one governmental or n governmental genocide

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or is it non

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@nathan917 ....can you come and help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it is a government genocide. Because the government of Sudan sent out Arab militias, also called Janjaweed, which attacked hundreds of villages throughout Darfur . Over 400 villages were destroyed. The Janjaweed murdered several farmers. And since the Janjaweed were sent by the Sudan government....I believe the government caused the genocide....

OpenStudy (nathan917):

Yes. Forgive me link would Not open And i though you had a Question and was looking for it :P Then i saw you here and assumed it was this question.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

governmental and non-governmental genocide by Darfur

OpenStudy (anonymous):

look at the link I posted above....can you see it ? Is this genocide caused by government or non government genocide.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it is government but I am not sure because some general took over Darfur and then came the genocide

OpenStudy (nathan917):

Well In 1989, General Omar Bashir took control of Sudan by military coup, which then allowed The National Islamic Front government to inflame regional tensions.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay i'm lost now

OpenStudy (nathan917):

Sudanese forces and Janjaweed militia attacked hundreds of villages throughout Darfur. Over 400 villages were completely destroyed and millions of civilians were forced to flee their homes. In the ongoing genocide <---- So yes i would agree @kelliegirl33

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But the Sudanese government sent militia out, and this started the genocide. So is it government genocide ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh...you agree ...thanks

OpenStudy (nathan917):

@michaelc96 What part Are You stuck on?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no I understand now okay imma start looking for a non governmental one but how can I tell if it isn't governmental

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I suppose if the government tried to stop it.....then it isn't government. Does that make sense ?

OpenStudy (nathan917):

Do you want to know the difference?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

he just left......

OpenStudy (nathan917):

People Say "please help medal and ill fan who ever helps the most and most right" All the time and Just leave.

OpenStudy (nathan917):

A non-governmental organization (NGO) is a legally constituted organisation created by natural or legal persons that operates independently from any government. The term originated from the United Nations (UN), and is normally used to refer to organizations that do not form part of the government and are not conventional for-profit business. In the cases in which NGOs are funded totally or partially by governments, the NGO maintains its non-governmental status by excluding government representatives from membership in the organization. A government agency is a permanent or semi-permanent organization in the machinery of government that is responsible for the oversight and administration of specific functions, such as an intelligence agency. There is a notable variety of agency types. Although usage differs, a government agency is normally distinct both from a Department or Ministry, and other types of public body established by government. The functions of an agency are normally executive in character, since different types of organisation (such as commissions) are normally used for advisory functions, but this distinction is often blurred in practice. A government agency may be established by either a national government or a state government within a federal system. (The term is not normally used for an organization created by the powers of a local government body.) Agencies can be established by legislation or by executive powers. The autonomy, independence and accountability of government agencies also vary widely. He left cause i was going to make him read :P
