Describe the trend in the scatter plot.

OpenStudy (rosedewittbukater):

Are there any choices for answers?

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

If you look at that, you have a very narrow plot. In fact, you could draw a line and it would basically thread between the dots. What sort of statistical relationship is it that creates a linear relationship in the results?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no theres no choiuces

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

So it is flat out knowing the terminology. So words close to increasing and decreasing, but those are not quite the terms used in this part of stats.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so i know its a positive trend

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its definetly not negative

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

OK. That was the one I wa thinking that are going for, it is positive. Also, from the graphic, would you say there is a large varriation in results, or a pretty directly related trend. This has to do with the standard deviation and if it is large or not.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

id say its relatively the same because the trend doesnt really change much

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Yah, so how I would answer it would ab summary of those points. It is a positive trend with a strong correlation. I might also estimate the slope of the line that seems to split the values, but I would make sure to denote that it was a rough estimate based on the graph and not th measured values.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you so much for your help!

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Seems like you knew the parts here, just did not put them all together at once.... I know the feeling! I just got a problem wrong on a Linear Alg. test because I knew it did not make sense, so I guessed... and I put the wrong answer because the right one was "does not exist." LOL

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ive done stuff like that before ill be like huh i know how do this but not this particular problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hey @e.mccormick can you help me with another question?

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Whai is it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I actually figured it out but thx ;)

Great!
