Find the cross product a × b. a = (6, 0, −4) b = (0, 6, 0)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a = (6, 0, −4) b = (0, 6, 0) the proper way of writting it is a = (6i, 0j, −4k) b = (0i, 6j, 0k) now multiply each term of a with each term of b and show me each term containing i,j,k

OpenStudy (anonymous):

multiply the a with corresponding b? Wouldn't you just get 0?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

may be zero is the answer but you have to go through to conform it like i will go for the first few terms as axb = 0 ixi +36 ixj + 0 ixk and so on do the rest to conform your answer

I see, thank you again!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

welcome man

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but always remember ixi = 0 ixj = k ixk = -j jxj = 0 jxi = -k jxk = i kxk = 0 kxi = j kxj = -i
