OpenStudy (firejay5):

Describe the relationship between the germ theory of disease and the science of immunology.

OpenStudy (firejay5):

@thomaster & @some_someone

thomaster (thomaster):

well the germs cause infections and the immune system (the defense mechanism of the body) is fighing this infection by destroying invaders like bacteria.

OpenStudy (firejay5):

what would be the relationship between them

OpenStudy (firejay5):

How are they connected?

OpenStudy (firejay5):

Not helping

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okaii: the germ theory of disease: -germs -disease the science of immunology: -immunology -the branch of science dealing with the components of the immune system, immunity from disease, the immune response, and immunologic techniques of analysis.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you see any type of connections?

OpenStudy (firejay5):

I put that they both do something to the body that affects it in some way

thomaster (thomaster):

it's microbiology vs immunology the relationship is that they're both involving disease. microbiology (in this case pathogenic micro organisms (germs)) are causing the disease and immunology (the immune system) is killing this disease.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@thomaster that is the type of connection i wanted @Firejay5 to notice.

OpenStudy (firejay5):

It's how people explain things, if you don't explain it to me in a way that answer the questions like: "the relationship is that they're both involving disease." I won't notice it that well

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i did put like hints and clues, you might say under each of the topics. If you read them, you would notice that they are both correlated to disease. and then from there you might have noticed the immune and the disease connection.

thomaster (thomaster):

I would't say that @some_someone is wrong in this case. the point of this site is that we help eachother with explaining things like giving hints like he did.

OpenStudy (firejay5):

I need hints unless a website isn't full of information

OpenStudy (firejay5):

meaning just to the points

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes @thomaster :) i agree. This is a site to help, mentor, and explain things to others who need help. We guide them through, and if they have further questions, then they are welcomed to ask. But this site is to help and explain not just give out straight out answers without letting the user think a little. also, @Firejay5 well i gave you a link so that you could read through it and learn more about it so you could answer the question.

OpenStudy (firejay5):

I agree with what you said, but giving boredom sites makes it harder for me to answer the question, and I have a Biology EOC in a few days, so I prefer the answer, so I can study off of that, so I can pass?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i agree, sometimes a simple explanation is better. and if i caused any problems to you or whatsoever, I am sorry if i made it more complicated.

OpenStudy (firejay5):

it made it a little complicated, I don't always want the answer, sometimes I want an explanation, but trying to let a person solve it is good, but some times explaining thing are even better
