Use the given graph to determine the limit, if it exists. Need help with this!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

find lim f(x) as x approaches 3+

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh boy...

OpenStudy (reemii):

\(\lim_{x\to 3+} f(x) = \lim_{x\to 3+}3 = 3\). why? because for every x>3 (and that is the case since "\(x\to 3+\)"), we have \(f(x)=3\).

OpenStudy (reemii):

that is for the computation. for finding the answer with the graph only, think of a point traveling on the graph, coming from the right side of 3. At each moment ask yourself "what is the y-value of my position?". here, at any moment, the y-value is 3 (it is forbidden to reach the point above x=3 by definition of "x->3+". so , the y-values, as time goes by, are 3, 3, 3, 3, .... etc. the limit of this sequence is 3.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so is it 3,3 ?

OpenStudy (reemii):

The answer is 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

eeep but all the other ones are coordinates

OpenStudy (reemii):

what are "the other ones" ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the other problems on my worksheet

OpenStudy (reemii):

oh then they might indeed wait for (3, 3) as the answer.. I'm used to write only one number.
