if you take square root of a negative number, you get a complex number (imaginary number) as your ans and therefore there are no real roots.....

do you understand that??

The square root of x is a number that when squared gives you x. For example, the square root of 25 is 5 because 5 squared = 25. Another example, the square root of 25 is also -5 because -5 squared is also 25. When you square a positive number, you get a positive number. For example, 3^2 = 3*3 = 9. When you square a negative number, you also get a positive number. For example, (-4)^2 = (-4) * (-4) = 16. There is no real number that you can square, which means multiply by itself, and get a negative answer, so there is no square root of a negative number in the real numbers.
