How did the great depression eventually change Germany economically?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Germany eventually believed that Hitler would solve their economic problems.

The Weimar Republic actually had a few years of stability following the massive inflation the economy suffered in the early 20s which turned the reichsmark into useless paper. But a large part of the this stability was owed to American banks giving loans to German companies to help them stay afloat. When the market crashed in '29 sending the American economy into a tailspin, banks called in all of those loans at once to save themselves. That devastated the German economy as companies withered, shedding workers, and giving rise to massive unemployment and a disillusioned population. A lot of radical movements saw their chance. At that point, it was like Kaylalove said -- people eventually believed that Hitler and his Nazis were the answer.
