In the following diagram, which of the following is true? (Diagram is in the attachment) A) The activation energy of the forward reaction is greater than that of the reverse reaction. B) The forward and reverse reactions are equal in terms of their energy requirements. C) The reverse reaction releases less energy than the forward reaction. D) If the temperature decreases, the forward reaction will stop. I want to say it is D, but I'm not sure. I'm kinda leaning towards either A or D. Can anyone help?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

if the temperature decreases, the reaction will still flow both ways, because the distribution of kinetic energy in the molecules (some moving really fast still) although the rate of the reaction will be reduced.

So it's B?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

look at aaronq's picture, which activation energy is greater? forward or reverse?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Forward

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you got it. let's give aaronq the medals.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you both for helping :)

OpenStudy (aaronq):

woo team work

Will you two look at my new question? It's similar to this, but I'm confused about one part of it. Can you tell me if I'm over analyzing the problem?
