The marginal revenue for x items in dollars is given by r'(x)=-2.5x+7 determine and the revenue function and demand function

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hi again i looked in Stewart book and it gives "revenue function" is \(R(x)\) which in this case is \(R(x)=-1.25x^2+7x\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then for the demand function \(P(x)\) it says that \[R(x)=xP(x)\] so in this case the demand function would be \[P(x)=-1.25x+7\]

leave the question open, maybe someone else will chime in, but that is what my calc text says

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes its correct thanks so much!
