Im studying refraction and we have to find the speed of light . In the formula it says n=c/Vs by n is the index of refraction.. Can you use this formula when given n1=index of incidence? if you cant how can you find it?

N=1 is the index of refraction. Only air has an index of refraction n=1. Let say you shine light on a piece of glass, its wavelength will change because of the difference medium. As you know, speed of light is also related to wavelength ( c= lambda * frequency) therefore, if the wavelength because shorter, it will change. I don't know if you understand what I'm saying :)
