HELP!
@satellite73 please help
if you know SOH CAH TOA, and you have cos given, then you can fill in the remaining legs and angle of the triangle using 'sin' and Pythagorean theorem. It might help if you start by drawing a right angled triangle. Call one of the angles for theta, and then fill in the one leg and the hypotenuse using the values given by cos (theta)
im really new to this think you give give me step by step instructions
|dw:1369876988964:dw| Now to find the 'vertical' side of the triangle you can use Pythagorean. And once you have that length you can fill in the other trig ratios sin, cos, tan tan = sin / cos csc = 1/sin sec = 1 / cos cot = 1 / tan
you are given cos (x) = 2/5, and you know cos (x) = adjacent / hyp, so there you are given 2 sides
Think of trig functions as ratios. Cos (x) gives you a ratio of the adjacent (horz) side divided by the hyp side
correct, so you found the 'opposite side' (I have to run, so I don't have time to double check right now)
on the vertical side, that is the length you just found
have to run - sorry
befor you leave whats the next step?
@satellite73 can you help me finish this?
@timo86m how do i finish this??
sin= opp/hyp cos=adj/hyp tan=opp/adj cosec=hyp/opp sec=hyp/adj cot=adj/opp put the values you will get all the 6 quantities
Thanks @DEVESHkishore
